MTV India is an inspirational icon Young and specially teenagers in India. Since quite a few time i found this very disturbing as MTV India is portraying a culture which does not belong to us! Though it has managed to increase the TRP but i think in a long run it will suffer hell. When I see the offerings like Roadies / ticker and Splitsvilla..what they are portraying or at least trying to do so? The participants belong the Gen X (Y) whatever and in each of the show the content is just beep beep beep…mindless abusing that too on national TV by everyone! In Roadies, they brought back Palak (the most abusing girl..one word pathetic) just to up their TRP..earlier roadies used to be performance based..but now its all TRP only.. during the election i have seen many wonderful ads about youths (jago re by TATA tea) etc ..this time the gen X has taken a step and voted in large numbers..i feel this gen x is doing exceptionally well and knows where to go.they care about country. they have shown their anger during Mumbai Taj incident..they have supported even minor causes..but on the other hand so called youth channel MTV is showing that this gen knows nothing but to Beep Beep Beep..in both the shows there was no respect to women / humanity / friendship..some basic relations which i feel are very well respected by today’s generation…
i believe that the youth of this nation has to decide about their image..how they want to be recognized? as an abuser or one who is making difference to his/her country and society!
One last thing which i really hate about MTV is the ticker..humour has a sense and limits..these guys are making fun of even the kid from taare zameen per..cmon guys grow up!! he is just a kid and what he has done is much beyond your capabilities..if you really want to show your humour go and try with real people. Do not hide behind the ticker you cowards shameless pathetic people..in the name of humor you do not have any rights to make fun of anyone..i don’t know what happens to this channel..i still like and remember the days of the fantastic Cyrus..i think that guy has one of the best humor and that too without hurting anyone or passing unnecessary comments..if he is watching MTV now a days..i am sure he will also feel pity about the pathetic standards of now!
